Business Idea/s
A good business idea does not need to be original. It needs to target a specific, underserved gap you can name, and knowing how much capital and risk that gap demands matter just as much as the idea itself.
Business Ideas: Risk, Reward, and Finding Your Niche
A good business idea does not need to be original. It needs to target a specific, underserved gap you can name, and knowing how much capital and risk that gap demands matter just as much as the idea itself.
Identifying the Opportunity:
- Niche: A narrower, underserved segment within a broader category, for example specialized dietary catering, or repair services for a specific appliance brand.
- Locality: An area where demand exists but supply is thin, such as a neighbourhood without a nearby tailor, gym, or quick-delivery option.
- Price Point: A budget or premium tier that existing providers are not serving well, such as affordable coaching in a market of high-cost consultants.
- Underserved customer segment: A specific group whose needs are not directly addressed, such as senior citizens, working mothers, or first-generation entrepreneurs.
- Gap in delivery: The product or service already exists, but not in the format customers want, such as doorstep delivery, a subscription model, or an online-only option.
